We usually opt for the Park Hopper option so that we can go wherever we are in the mood to
go. But I knew that we were coming when
it is slow, and we are here for so many days that it really is not
necessary. I usually choose which park
we will visit based on where the Extra Magic Hours (EMH) are for the day. On day #3 of our trip the EMHs were at
Hollywood Studios; so that is the direction that we chose to go.
If you have
never been to Hollywood Studios, there are quite a few things to check
out. But if you have, you know that once
you have tried everything that the main attractions are the Tower of Terror and
Rockin’ Rollercoaster. That’s pretty
much what our day consisted of… plus The Great Movie Ride. We did try something that we never had
before: The American Idol Experience.
American Idol fan or not, this is a pretty cool attraction. At various times of the day you get to go in
to see the preliminary competitions if you’d like to, and then at the end of
the night they have the final competition.
We caught the finale, and it featured 5 different hopefuls competing for
the golden ticket to actually audition with the Idol crew during the next
season. We expected these people to be
awful, and that if nothing else we would get a good laugh out of the
experience. But these people were
really, really good. It was time well
spent!

We ate lunch and
dinner at the park. Lunch took place at
one of my favorite Quick Service locations: Toy Story’s Pizza Planet. With the dining plan you get a personal
pizza, a Caesar salad and cake. The food
is nothing super special, but it is tasty and I love the theme of the
restaurant. Honestly, we could have
shared the meal because we both had food to throw away. In the future I think we will share that meal
and save a Quick Service credit for later, and maybe share a snack as well.

Dinner took
place at a fun location: the Sci-Fi Dinner Theater. If you have not visited..check it out! You get to sit in your own convertible car
and eat at the “drive-in” while you watch snippets of black and white
movies. The food is pretty tasty, and
the atmosphere is fun. We rotate eating
there and 50’s Primetime Café when we visit Hollywood Studios. I mentioned to Kenny that the Disney Dining
Plan should be called the “Disney Fat Plan”…oh boy do we eat a ton of food
while we are here! Thankfully a trip to
Disney includes a ton of walking, so I don’t think this extra calorie
consumption is an issue.
Sadly, my cell phone screen was shattered while we were at Hollywood Studios. I was wearing a dress with pockets, and I quickly placed my phone into my pocket to take a photo. I did not notice that it did not go all the way into my pocket, and I watched it fall to the cobblestone ground as if it were a slow motion movie clip. RIP HTC Sensation. Well, pretty much. It still functions...but it is sad to look at. Kenny keeps laughing at me because I am still using it, and he swears I am going to get glass in my finger. It is a good thing that I work for a cell phone company! I have my eye on the new Samsung Galaxy Blaze... I just hope it comes out sooner than later. Day #4...Epcot! Much more to come!

Amanda, I just stumbled upon your blog & am so glad I did! I LOVE Disney and have enjoyed reading about your trip there! Hope you guys enjoy the rest of your trip!
ReplyDeleteThanks, PCM! I am glad that you stumbled upon it too? Do you have your next trip planned? I am already in the beginning stages of planning our next trip... I think I have a problem. :)
DeleteMy boyfriend and I just bought a new house so we are busy purchasing a lot of things to fill it up, but we both agreed we need to take a vacation very soon. The hard thing will be convincing him that Disney is not just for kids! :)
